Life, A Creative Process
Life, A Creative Process, is a series of four large scale un-stretched acrylic paintings on canvas, based on a visual journal which explore the life stages of creativity for artists. I became interested in this idea in 2017, and pursued the research through the creation of the Creative Lives journal from 2018 to 2020. The paintings were completed in early 2021 for the exhibition, Medium of Exchange: Process.
Medium of Exchange: Process
The exhibition ran from April 7 to June 5 2021 at the Alberta Society of Artists Gallery in Calgary. Process was the culmination of three years of work and planning by artists Jesica Campbell, Penny Chase, Jessica Hauser, Koren Scott and myself. Process is an anniversary show for Medium of Exchange, on the theme of creative process. Due to Covid 19 the gallery was closed to the public throughout the show run. We mounted a virtual exhibition on a dedicated website to share it with the public, as well as a live virtual closing reception hosted by the Alberta Society of Artists on Facebook .
